Network Neutrality :: Finally explode the detonator

Few days ago, KT (www.kt.com), a leading company of telecommunication service in Korea, warned to stop its internet service to Samsung's internet enabled Smart TV. Finally, Feb. 9, Samsung denied the compromising to KT's declaring a war and KT cut its cord to Samsung Smart TV. The industry reacts the timed bomb under-ground was exploded. Eventually, this conflict between network provider and smart device maker is aiming to Network Neutrality issue and escalating to bring social agreement about sound eco-system. The network provider claims Samsung is on free-riding on network, in the other hand Samsung disputes the user of Smart TV is normal subscriber of network provider and the user has the fair right to enjoy the advanced network service. Finally KCC (Korea Communications Commission) is engaging to this mess and try to make an solution, but it looks to hard release this conflict because the strong tension between leading companies of the industry and the public opinion.

LG tease its first 5 inch hybrid smartphone :: Optimus VU

LG unveiled its first 5 inch hybrid smartphone, Optimus VU at www.optimusvu.lgmobile.co.kr. The Optimus VU has been rumored as Optimus Note, Prada Note so far. Optimus VU has 1.5GHz dual core processor, 800 mill pixel camera on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The most significant and unique feature of Optimus VU is 4:3 display aspect unlikely to general smartphone LCD. The representative device of 4:3 display aspect is iPad and regular desktop PCs which is suitable for standard web browsing, reading and office documents. Because of this aspect ratio, Optimus VU looks like more tablet-like than smartphone. The Optimus VU offers the stylus pen which made Jobs to be puked up.

Samsung adopts 'Allshare Play' in its brand new smart TV 2012


 Jan 7, Samsung detailed its 'Allshare Play' will be equipped in the brand new smart TV from ES8000 series. The 'Allshare Play' is an advanced version of existing 'Allshare' which enables contents sharing between devices within single WiFi network. But 'Allshare Play' pushes the bound of sharing to public internet as such kind of N-screen and private cloud concept. Samsung has introduced this 'Allshare Play' in  CES 2012 in Las Vegas and announced its rolling out through its official blog, http://www.samsungtomorrow.com. Samsung says from this beginning in 2012 every consumer product of Samsung, smartphones, tablets, laptop and digital camera, will support 'Allshare Play'.

There are two remarkable points in this statistic, the one is still miserable and tough for Windows Phone led by Nokia, the other thing is twice market sharing of BADA to Windows and its growth, 183% which is the second place followed by Android,  looks extraordinary. Recently, BADA is considered to be merged into TIZEN (www.tizen.org) operating system which was a result of collaboration between Samsung and Intel. Indeed, does TIZEN make its own eco-system to survive?
