Endless Arguing on Samsung Slate 7 :: CPU performance variation of throttling

Even though it's CPU throttling looks best choice of Intel to adopt its CPU into handheld mobile PC, obviously the maximum CPU clock, in other words CPU performance, is deeply depends on temperature of CPU. Intel and Samsung explain this as advanced CTDP (Controllable Thermal Design Power) technology which is optimal CPU controlling against thermal problem.

Here is a video of extreme experiment of this throttling influence on CPU CTDP using liquid nitrogen.

- Initially CPU clock shows 800Mhz at idle.
- Starting test with "Prime95" on Slate 7 in room temperature
- CPU clock : 800Mhz at 100% CPU usage. CPU temperature goes to 60 Celsius degree.
- Drop Liquid Nitrogen (-193.2 Celsius degree) on Slate 7.
- After 1 minute, CPU clock speed up to 1.6Ghz and getting down temperature

- The maximum CPU clock (1.6Ghz) is achieved at around 55 Celsius degree.
